At Brilliant Read Media, it is our constant endeavour to identify and share some of the unique and compelling stories from the startup ecosystem. As part of this, we invited Natasha Gomes for an interview with Brilliant Read Media. To say it further, Natasha is an Internationally Certified Image Consultant, Soft Skills Trainer, Confidence, Transformation & Emotional Intelligence Coach and Founder at ImageMe with Natasha. Let’s learn more about her background, inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!

Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Natasha:

Image consulting is often perceived as being primarily about appearance. How do you help people understand that personal image is equally about confidence, communication, behaviour, and self-belief?

One of the biggest misconceptions about image consulting is that it’s only about clothing or appearance. While appearance certainly creates the first impression, it is our behaviour, communication, emotional intelligence, and confidence that leave a lasting one.

At ImageMe with Natasha, I believe that personal image is built on three essential pillars: Appearance, Behaviour, and Communication, which I call the ABC of Image Management. My role is not to change who people are but to help them become the most authentic and confident version of themselves.

Whether I’m working with a teenager preparing for college, a professional stepping into leadership, or a corporate team, every transformation begins from within.

When people truly believe in themselves, that confidence naturally reflects in the way they communicate, present themselves, and build meaningful connections. That philosophy is at the heart of my brand, “Where Transformation Begins…”

Natasha Gomes

You work at the intersection of confidence, communication, and personal presence. Which of these areas do people struggle with the most, and how do you help them create lasting transformation?

Confidence is undoubtedly the biggest challenge but confidence is often the outcome, not the starting point. Many individuals struggle because they fear judgment, compare themselves with others, or underestimate their own strengths.

I begin by helping clients develop self-awareness. Once they understand their unique strengths, values, and communication style, confidence starts to grow naturally.

Through practical coaching, role plays, body language training, public speaking, emotional intelligence, and image management techniques, I help people build habits that create genuine behavioural change rather than temporary motivation.

Having trained over 3,000 individuals, what are some of the most common confidence barriers you have observed across different age groups and professional backgrounds?

Regardless of age or profession, I consistently see three major confidence barriers: self-doubt, fear of failure, and fear of being judged.

Students often hesitate to express themselves because they worry about fitting in. Young professionals question whether they are “good enough.” Leaders, despite years of experience, sometimes struggle with executive presence and even imposter syndrome.

I believe confidence isn’t about being perfect. It comes from preparation, self-awareness, continuous learning, and the courage to take action despite uncertainty.

As a Teen Transformation Coach, what challenges do today’s teenagers face while building their identity and self-confidence in an increasingly image-conscious and social-media-driven world?

Today’s teenagers are growing up in a world of constant comparison. Social media often showcases carefully curated versions of success, beauty, and happiness, making many young people feel inadequate.

Apart from academic pressure, they also face challenges related to peer acceptance, digital influence, emotional well-being, and identity. My work focuses on helping teenagers discover their own strengths rather than comparing themselves with others.

Through confidence-building, communication skills, emotional intelligence, grooming, and life skills, I encourage them to embrace authenticity, develop resilience, and build a strong foundation that serves them throughout life.

Many people try to imitate trends or personalities they admire. How do you help clients develop an authentic personal image rather than become a version of someone else?

Authenticity is the foundation of personal branding. Trends can certainly inspire us, but they should never define us.

Every individual has a unique personality, a set of values, a lifestyle, career aspirations, and goals. My coaching always begins with understanding who the client truly is before making any recommendations. Whether it’s personal style, communication, or executive presence, I help clients align their external image with their inner identity so they project confidence without pretending to be someone they’re not.

In professional environments, technical expertise alone may not always be enough. How can strong communication and personal presence influence career growth, leadership opportunities, and professional credibility?

Technical skills may help someone secure a role, but communication, executive presence, and emotional intelligence often determine how far they progress.

Professionals who communicate clearly, build meaningful relationships, demonstrate confidence, and present themselves professionally are more likely to earn trust, influence decisions, and step into leadership roles.

Personal presence isn’t about speaking the loudest. It’s about communicating with clarity, empathy, confidence, and purpose. The good news is that these are skills anyone can learn, practice, and continuously refine throughout their career.

Can you share a memorable client transformation where a change in self-perception significantly influenced the individual’s personal or professional journey?

One of the most memorable transformations I’ve witnessed was with my very first one-on-one client, an 18-year-old who came to me struggling with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, indecisiveness, and the constant belief that she wasn’t good enough.

Rather than beginning with communication or grooming, we started with self-awareness. Together, we explored her strengths, values, and limiting beliefs. As she gradually understood herself better, I saw an incredible transformation. She became more confident, assertive, and trusting of her own abilities.

Her journey wasn’t instant, but it was genuine and lasting. What makes it even more meaningful is that she still keeps in touch with me, sharing updates about her achievements and personal growth. Watching her confidence blossom has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career.

Whether I’m coaching one individual or conducting a workshop for hundreds, my first priority is always to build a genuine connection. People learn and grow when they feel seen, heard, and understood. For me, transformation always begins with trust, and that’s the foundation of every coaching and training experience.

Looking ahead, what larger impact do you hope to create through ImageMe with Natasha, particularly in empowering individuals and teenagers to express themselves with greater confidence and authenticity?

My vision extends far beyond teaching image management. I want ImageMe with Natasha to become a platform that empowers individuals to build confidence, communicate with purpose, and lead with authenticity.

I aspire to reach thousands of students, professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, and organisations through workshops, coaching programmes, and transformational learning experiences. I am especially passionate about equipping teenagers with life skills that schools often don’t teach, such as communication, emotional intelligence, confidence, etiquette, leadership, and resilience.

If every individual leaves believing a little more in themselves than they did before meeting me, I know I have fulfilled my purpose. After all, true transformation always begins from within.
